Our Story

Newly sober and living together in a halfway house, co-founders Michael Jones and John Bowden both experienced over a decade ago what it’s like to be new residents at a Sober Living Home. There were fourteen people living in a four-bedroom home, near constant relapses, little sense of community or staff engagement, and a “one-size-fits-all” methodology.

In 2016 they partnered to create Lighthouse, an intentionally designed, individually tailored, and community-focused approach to aftercare.

Our Facility

Based in Dallas, Texas, we are a men’s sober living facility that provides a long-term solution for those still recovering from an addiction. We want you to feel comfortable here so that you can better focus on getting well. Our four resident homes feature modern amenities such as upscale kitchens, fireplaces, OLED television sets, high-speed Internet, and more.

One thing that is different about Lighthouse Recovery is our small staff-to-resident ratio. Each home has its own live-in house manager, who oversees no more than eight men at one time. You’ll find plenty of other staff members who will encourage and support you in your efforts as well.

We understand that everyone has a different timeline for recovery and provide a more personalized approach. While at Lighthouse Recovery, each resident progresses at his own pace, with no specific timeline for reaching sobriety. There’s never any pressure to reach certain goals because a third-party provider has limited your amount of treatment.

We offer a community-based approach to recovery, partnering with other area providers who serve our residents with individual therapy, aftercare plans, and more. At Lighthouse Recovery, you’ll receive the ongoing care you need in a safe environment that will make it easier for you to avoid temptation.
